witch confesses she made her husband impotent

An alleged witch has confessed that she rendered her husband impotent for daring to take another wife.

A few days ago, residents of Ekwoma community in Delta State, Nigeria, were shocked to the bone marrow when a middle-aged woman identified as Mama Patience, allegedly made some stunning confession of her activities in a witchcraft coven, divulging that she was the one responsible for making her husband impotent after feeding him with a concoction she got from the coven.

The 62-year-old woman who is known in the community as an akara (bean cake) seller, was reported to have confessed that he took her husband's genitals to her coven after he had eaten the concoction, after a disagreement, and as such, there was no way he could get any woman pregnant.

Those who witnessed the said confession say she further narrated that sometime ago, her husband had threatened to take another due to her inability to bear him a child. The issue of a second wife led to a serious disagreement which had to be settled by the families and in the process, Mama Patience was fined two goats and some tubers of yam to appease the gods of the land.

That action angered her so much that she reported her husband to her coven and after their meeting, his punishment was that he would remain impotent for life.

While the quarrel lasted, there were allegations and counter-allegations of telepathy powers being used by Mama Patience, which she dismissed as the handiwork of her enemies.

Sources said that Mama Patience had been married for 24 years to the husband but could not bear a child, a situation that led the husband to take a second wife.

Expectedly, her husband’s marriage to another woman generated bad blood as accusing fingers were allegedly pointed at different directions.

According to an eye witness, Mama Patience allegedly confessed thus:

"Yes, I mixed up a concoction to prove a point to my husband when he told me that he can no longer sleep with me and would rather go back to the second wife.

The concoction, which was prepared for me by a native doctor in a neighbouring community, was to render him impotent. He took it and there was result."

A family member who spoke to journalists on the incident, said that the family has resolved to banish her from the community and that a lot of sacrifices would be needed to appease the gods to ward off any calamity befalling them.
