7 obvious signs your marriage is over

Most of the times, some couples remain together because they want to give friends and neighbours the impression that they are still 'happily' married. Others stay together for the sake of their children.

Just divorced

A lot of couples who have grown apart over the years are still in denial when it comes to admitting that their marriage is over.
Most of the times, they remain together because they want to give friends and neighbours the impression that they are still 'happily' married. Some stay together for the sake of their children, while others remain in a failed marriage because they are not ready to move on.
Beyond that, there are some couples who fail to even acknowledge the fact that they are having problems, or that their marriages are actually over, even when the other person involved has already moved on.
So how can you tell for sure that your marriage is over? Donna Hussey-Whyte of All Woman, shares 7 signs you need to look out for as revealed by divorcees:
  1. You have no idea how his money is spent: "Before, he would give me his paycheque and we would both sit down and decide how much did what, and how much would be put aside," Jasmyn S told All Woman. "Then all of a sudden it was like he was unemployed -- no money was coming in and yet every day he went to work. Then when I asked about it, it was pure arguments. That was a sign that he had another family supporting."
  2. He dresses up, and it's not for you: "I used to dress my husband, pick out his clothes and so on," Jasmyn continued. "Then all of sudden what I gave him to wear was not good enough. He started choosing his own clothes and he didn't even ask for my opinion. On top of that he started to shave parts of his body that hadn't seen a razor in all the 13 years I was married to him. And the man who I had to remind to bathe at nights, as he walked through the door he would head straight to the shower. Right away I knew something was not right."
  3. No sex: Marian S, who has been divorced for a year and a half, said the main indication your marriage is over is your husband's constant refusal to make love to you. "Which man you hear refuse sex? If every day he is refusing to have sex -- two months would pass and nothing -- then something is wrong. Even if it is that he is not having sex outside, the mere fact that he is not doing it with you means he is no longer interested in you. So that in itself is just as bad as if he was having an affair."
  4. You don't talk to each other anymore: "If you are living in the same house and sleeping in the same bed and you are not communicating, then the marriage is over," said Avadeen C. "A good marriage is based on communication and good communication too!"
  5. He doesn't come home: "Whenever you see a man stop going home every night and starts sleeping out late, and doesn't even bother to call to say he will be late or he won't be home, that is a sign," Hilda B said. "And when you call you cannot get him on the phone... then when he finally gets home the next day he acts as if nothing is wrong while you are fuming. At that point you know it's over, because a marriage cannot be one-sided."
  6. He's always working out of town: "You don't know of him getting any promotion to head any department out of town but every week he tells you he has to go out of town on business," Hilda noted.
  7. You lose interest in each other: "When you start living like brother and sister and lose all sexual attraction for each other, that is a red flag," she added
