Who is the most creative player in Europe this season?

Who is the most creative player in Europe this season?
Dimitri Payet leads the way from Cesc Fabregas in terms of opportunities created across the continent's top five leagues, with not a single Serie A player featuring in the top 20

Olympique de Marseille star Dimitiri Payet has pipped Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas to the title of most creative player in Europe so far this season, having set up four chances more than the Spain international.

Since moving to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona, former Arsenal captain Fabregas has picked up 14 assists in the Premier League, far more than any other player and six more than Payet can boast. However, the Frenchman has, crucially, fashioned more goalscoring opportunities overall.

Third on the list, which is dominated by the Premier League, is another player with a Chelsea connection, Kevin De Bruyne, who has made 59 chances for his Wolfsburg team-mates.

Then comes a collection of Premier League stars. Stewart Downing's renaissance at West Ham sees him claim fourth on 54, one ahead of Southampton's Dusan Tadic, who is separated from Arsenal ace Alexis Sanchez and Chelsea winger Eden Hazard by the same margin.

In seventh, is Raheem Sterling, who has created 49 chances despite the fact that his Liverpool side have struggled to score goals with Daniel Sturridge sidelined and Luis Suarez departed, whle Gylfi Sigurdsson is eighth thanks to his fine form since returning to Swansea.

The Icelandic schemer's former Tottenham team-mate, Christian Eriksen, has been his side's standout player this term and leads the way for the White Hart Lane side with 46 opportunities created, just ahead of Manchester City's Jesus Navas and Arsenal's Santi Cazorla.

The run of Premier League players is broken by the second-most creative Bundesliga star, Werder Bremen's Zlakto Junuzovic, who, with 43 chances created, ranks ahead of the highest ranked La Liga player, Lionel Messi, who has provided 42 opportunities for team-mates, as many as Everton full-back Leighton Baines.

The Argentine has outshone Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid in this regard, with the Portuguese down on 39, while not a single Serie A player has made the top 20.
