Every country is jealous of Germany'

EXCLUSIVE: Having won the World Cup in the summer and boasting the dominant force of Bayern Munich, Horst Hrubesch thinks nobody can touch the nation's coaching system
Germany youth coach Horst Hrubesch believes that no other country can hold a candle to the way the nation develops players.
'Every country is jealous of Germany'
Joachim Low coached the national side to World Cup glory this summer after two successive semi-final exits, with a 7-1 hammering of hosts Brazil destined to be remembered as one of the most iconic moments in the tournament's history.

The Bundesliga has also emerged as one of the strongest top leagues in Europe in recent years, with Borussia Dortmund's early success under Jurgen Klopp having now been eclipsed by the imperious form of 2013 European champions Bayern Munich.

Hrubesch, part of the West Germany squad which finished second at World Cup 1982, has been part of the current international set-up for a decade and a half and currently coaches the Under-21s and U-20s - and he is no doubt as to where the strongest young talent in the continent can be found.

"The German approach to youth is not doable in other countries, not at all," he told Goal. "There's no other country in the world that puts in as much effort as we do.

"No matter who you meet in the world, everybody looks a little jealous at us. We have already 11-year-olds in our youth centres; we know them and we follow their development very closely.

"Plus, since the early 2000s, professional clubs must have youth performances centres of their own. The more fun you teach kids at playing, the better for their development later.

"It's not just a saying that the best coaches have to work in the youth area, it's a truth."
