Real Madrid – AC Milan Betting: Back Carlo Ancelotti’s men to round off the year in style
Our man in Madrid, Phil Kitromilides, cannot see anything other than a comfortable win for the European champions against an AC Milan side that is badly out of form
Real Madrid’s final game of an historic 12 months sees them take on AC Milan in a friendly match which should serve as the perfect way for the passionate local support to show their appreciation for Los Blancos.
It has been a magnificent year for Carlo Ancelotti’s men, in stark contrast to what AC Milan have endured, with the Rossoneri struggling badly both domestically and in Europe.
It is hardly surprising therefore to find Madrid as the clear favorites with BetVernons pricing them at 1/3 (1.33) for the win at the Sevens Stadium in Dubai, while Milan are the outsiders at 11/2 (6.50).
Having racked up 22 consecutive wins Madrid are in superlative form and while this is a friendly match, the European champions will be keen to keep the winning run going and carry that impressive momentum into 2015 and beyond. Carlo Ancelotti of course, will also have an extra incentive as he faces his former side which should ensure there is plenty of bite to this friendly clash.
Milan conversely have been in deeply indifferent form wining just two of their last nine matches and are closer to the relegation zone than the top of Serie A. The mighty have indeed fallen at the San Siro, something evident by Milan’s failure to qualify for this season’s Champions League or indeed, European football at all.
In their current guise the Italians are barely more than an average side and to that end backing Madrid to beat them by two goals or more at 9/10 (1.90) looks like an excellent option. This bet has paid out in 18 of Madrid’s 22 successive wins and should prove to be profitable once more.
While it is always an added risk investing in a friendly game, Madrid will be roared on by a numerous and vociferous local fanbase and that should be motivation enough for the team to put in a good showing.
There will be changes to the starting line-up but whoever plays, Madrid should have more than enough strength in depth to dispatch Milan by at least a two goal margin and land punters a nice winner to end the year.
