3 policemen shot, 1 feared dead as cultists attack patrol van

Suspected cultists shot three policemen in a Christmas day attack a police patrol team in Bayelsa. One policeman is feared killed.
One policemen man has been killed in a daring attack by suspected cultists on a police patrol team at Agudama on the outskirts of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
According to Vanguard sources, the policeman was shot dead by the cultists around 12am on Christmas Day while on patrol with his colleagues.
Two other policemen also reportedly sustained gunshot wounds in the attack.
The spokesman of the Bayelsa Police Command, Asinimi Butswat, however told Vanguard that no officer died in the attack.
“The gunmen opened fire on our patrol team and injured our men. While no policeman was killed, three officers among the team were injured.
"One of them have been discharged, while two are receiving treatment,” he said.
Butswat added that the attack was carried out by yet to be identified gunmen.
