Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Erik Lamela dealing with minor calf injury

Erik-Lamela-Spurs Tottenham Hotspur did the unthinkable by burying a top Chelsea defense en route to a 5-3 win over the league leader at White Hart Lane today.
And Mauricio Pochettino’s side took the field without midfielder Erika Lamela in the squad.
Spurs signed the former AS Roma midfielder for about a £30 million ($46.67 million) fee in summer of 2013, breaking club records previously set by the acquisitions of Roberto Soldado, but he has been plagued by injury since landing in London.
The 22-year-old was set to make an appearance against Blues; however, a minor calf injury kept him out of the game according to this Tweet, which also hailed the play of his teammates in their victory over the Premier League powerhouse.
Lamela buried 15 goals in 36 competitions in his final Serie A season, and a similar, perhaps greater rate of scoring production, in addition to his playmaking abilities.
Thus far, he’s scored 5 goals in 44 contests with Spurs, and his arrival was supposed to lessen the consequences of Gareth Bale’s loss. His skill is apparent, though, and if his fitness remains intact for awhile as Tottenham surges, his quality on the pitch will likely become more clear.
