The country’s national team will depart for the Asian country next Thursday ahead of their international friendlies against two African teams in Abu Dhabi
Nigeria senior national team will depart with 19 players for the United Arab Emirates on January 8, 2015 where they will be facing Cote d’Ivoire and Sudan in international friendlies.
Media Officer of the team, Ben Alaiya told Goal that the team had started training and are in high spirits ahead of the friendly games and that plans are at advance stage for the team to leave the country on Thursday to continue with the rest of the preparations in Abu Dhabi.
“We are leaving for UAE hopefully on Thursday,” Alaiya told Goal.
“We are at an advance stage in our preparation and we are leaving any stone unturned in our bid to ensure that the country is well represented.
“Even though we couldn’t qualify for the Africa Cup of nations, we are looking at other options that we will explore to keep the team busy before the start of the qualifiers.”
