VALDES & OSPINA ON LIST
Victor Valdes and Arsenal’s David Ospina are among the goalkeepers on Valencia’s shortlist, reports AS.
The Mestalla club are on the lookout for a reliable goalkeeper to play in place of Diego Alves, who is currently sidelined with a long-term injury.
AS reports that Valencia’s first approach for United’s Valdes was turned down earlier this month, although the club could get in touch with him again after he was left out of Louis van Gaal’s squad for his side’s summer tour.
Ospina’s future, meanwhile, is unclear after Arsenal signed Petr Cech, while Valencia are also weighing up a move for free agent Sergio Romero, who has been linked with United and Real Madrid.
LOACH POACHED
Notts County have completed the signing of former England Under-21 goalkeeper Scott Loach.
Loach has signed a two-year deal with the Magpies having been released by Championship side Rotherham.
‘WE WILL NOT SELL’
Arsene Wenger insists Arsenal will never need to sell their best players again and can finally compete with the best teams in Europe financially.
High-profile departures Samir Nasri, Cesc Fabregas, Robin van Persie, Emmanuel Adebayor and Gael Clichy came during a trophyless nine-year period at the club.
Wenger said: "The time where we had to sell our best players is over for sure.
"We had five or six years where we were financially restricted, we had to balance the books and we had to pay the stadium back. This time has gone.”


ROO BOOST
Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney says the whole squad has been given a boost by the arrival of Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The 29-year-old said the signing of the Germany skipper alongside Matteo Darmian, Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin has given all the players in the squad a lift.
"Bastian is a very experienced player who has won everything in the game and it’s great that he has chosen to join us and left a team like Bayern Munich to come here," Rooney told MUTV.
“And Morgan as well – it’s great to see Bastian, him, Matteo and Memphis all come in and give the squad a boost.”
FOREST REJECT ANTONIO BID
Nottingham Forest have turned down an offer from West Brom, believed to be in the region of £5m, for winger Michail Antonio, according to Sky sources.
And it is also understood that the Championship club have no intention of allowing the player to leave the City Ground this summer.
UNITED MAKE NEW RAMOS BID
Manchester United have submitted an improved offer of €45m for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, according to reports in AS.

However, the Spanish sports daily claim the Red Devils have been told they must pay €90m to sign the player.

LA Galaxy have signed midfielder Giovani dos Santos on a four-and-a-half-year deal from Villarreal.
The versatile attacker, who is currently on international duty with Mexico at the CONCACAF Gold Cup, is reportedly expected to cost Galaxy a seven-figure fee from the La Liga side where he spent the past two years plying his trade.
"It's going to be a challenge for him," Galaxy coach and general manager Bruce Arena told the LA Times. "He's not been at a club yet where he's had those kind of responsibilities.”

Croatia playmaker and Liverpool target Mateo Kovacic has ruled out a move to the Premier League this summer, instead expressing a wish to remain at Inter Milan.
"Inter have never said they want to sell me, never," Kovacic told Gazzetta. "I want to stay here. I will not leave.
"That's what I wanted, that's what my renewal until 2019 shows, there will be a long relationship between myself and Inter."
PALACIOS REUNION
Wilson Palacios has impressed Hull City manager Steve Bruce during a trial period after being released by Stoke and may be offered a deal with the club.

Germany's World Cup winner Sami Khedira is targeting Champions League success with Juventus after signing on a free transfer from Real Madrid.
The 28-year-old midfielder signed a four-year contract for the Turin giants and was unveiled to the media on Wednesday.
"I spent five wonderful years with Real Madrid and I had already made up my mind a while back that I needed a new challenge," Khedira said on the club's official website. "Juve is at the same level as Real Madrid. It was a simple decision to take.”.
He added: "It's a great honour to play in Serie A. It's a challenging competition and there are many strong teams. Juve have also proved they can compete at the same level against any European side. I want to experience again a Champions League final."

PSG CLOSE TO STAMBOULI DEAL
Paris Saint-Germain are closing in on a deal for Tottenham midfielder Benjamin Stambouli, according to the London Evening Standard.
The 24-year-old was thought to be on the verge of a £5.5m move to Watford last week only for the deal to collapse after the player learnt of PSG’s interest.
The French champions are looking for a replacement for Yohan Cabaye, who joined Crystal Palace and are also looking to improve their homegrown quota.

WEST HAM LINKED WITH HERNANDEZ
West Ham are preparing a big for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, according to various reports.
The Daily Mail claims the Hammers have been interested since last summer and are now ready to make an £8m move for the Mexico international.
However, Slaven Bilic was not to be drawn on the link with Hernandez during his press conference before his side’s Europa League clash with Birkirkara FC.
He said: “I will not discuss the players who are not here. We are trying to be active in the transfer window and the Board have been active. We are still trying to improve our squad. Don't forget the team did well last year, and we've brought in the players to make it better."
ARSENAL WANT TO KEEP MONREAL
Arsenal are not interested in selling full back Nacho Monreal, according to the Daily Mirror.
Reports in Spain had suggested Atheltic Bilbao were closing in on a deal to sign Monreal, who is currently in action for the Gunners against a Singapore Select XI – live on Sky Sports 1 now.
However, Arsenal are not looking to sell the 29-year-old and Arsene Wenger hinted at a new deal for the Spaniard.
CITY READY TO MAKE DE BRUYNE MOVE
Manchester City are ready to make another significant move in the transfer market with a £40m bid for Wolfsburg forward Kevin De Bruyne.
According to the Daily Mirror, Wolfsburg, who have offered the Belgium international a new deal, are holding out for £50 but City believe they are in pole position in the race for his signature.
The report suggests De Bruyne is willing to listen to what City can offer him as he looks to make a decision on his future.
PSG and Bayern Munich are also thought to be interested.

Manchester United are ready to rival Liverpool in the race for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, according to the Daily Mail.
With Radamel Falcao already through the exit door and Robin van Persie set to follow, Louis van Gaal is on the hunt for striking reinforcements. United are monitoring Benteke’s position but have not made any firm contact with Villa.
Liverpool, who are unwilling to meet Benteke’s £32.5m buy-out clause, are still thought to be favourites to land the Belgium international.
LOMBAERTS: MEDICAL NOT AN ISSUE 
Nicolas Lombaerts has denied failing a medical at Sunderland.
The Belgium international was close to completing a £5m move to the Stadium of Light but has decided to stay in Russia with Zenit St Petersburg.
“The medical was not an issue.” Lombaerts told Sky Sports News HQ reporter Gary Cotterill.
“I don’t want to talk about the medical. People are making up stories. I decided to stay in Russia. Other teams in England were interested but I wanted to stay here. It’s my home here, and I feel happy. I have four games to become a Zenit legend. I will spend the remaining three years here, and maybe end my career here.”

ROMA ANNOUNCE NEW KEITA DEAL
Roma have rewarded midfielder Seydou Keita with a new one-year deal, the Serie A club has announced.
The 35-year-old midfielder joined Roma as a free agent last summer and scored two goals in 26 league appearances to help the Giallorossi finish runners-up to Italian champions Juventus last season.
The Mali international's previous deal had expired on June 30.
A statement from Roma read: "AS Roma announces that it has signed a new contract with Seydou Keita to keep the player at the club for the 2015-16 season."

ZHANG LEAVES WOLFSBURG
Wolfsburg have allowed Chinese midfielder Xizhe Zhang to return home without the 24-year-old having made a single appearance in the Bundesliga.
Zhang was signed by the Wolves only six months ago and appeared set to become only the fourth Chinese player to appear in the Bundesliga.
He is to join former club Beijing Guoan with immediate effect.
"I'd like to thank Wolfsburg for allowing me to return home," Zhang said on the Bundesliga club's website. “In the past few months, I've learnt a great deal - not just in terms of football. I am very grateful also for these new experiences, which I can now draw back on. I'd like to wish Wolfsburg all the best for the new season."
